Standing up as a sign of inner freedom: The films in this program bring together the undiminished desire of the main characters to persevere despite all adversity. They draw attention to themselves by doing things differently and raising their voices demanding for new perspectives. They want to have an impact on people’s opinions in order to break from routines and acting blindly. Some manage to do so, yet for others it means the end of a great dream.
