The peacefulness of the countryside is threatened by the ever-constant migration into cities, coupled with poverty and new technologies. A boy attempts to earn money to pay for his brother’s medicine, and a village needs to be evacuated because of a building project. OFF THE MAIN ROAD tells the story of rural life and the dangers and problems associated with this lifestyle. But it isn’t all about tragedies: A village wants to finally open its cemetery so a priest looks for the first suitable dead body for it.
