IC 06 Survival Skills

Those who are capable of adapting well to their surroundings possess an evolutionary advantage – we’re familiar with this as “survival of the fittest”. With animals, it’s simple: the hare with the best natural camouflage is less likely to be picked off by an eagle. However, humankind’s natural enemies are few and far between – so what does “optimally adapted” mean here? Is it unscrupulous conduct in turbo-capitalism? Emotional fortitude when everything seems to be falling apart? Or simply being able to act like everything is perfectly fine? In the end, humans are frequently their own worst enemy, ever fond of placing the largest obstacles in their own paths.
