For some ten years now, a new generation of filmmakers has been active in Venezuela in the field of short films, filmmakers who have not only enjoyed a significant degree of success at the film festivals of this world with their works – they’ve also had a tremendous influence on feature film production in their own country. In a compelling manner, traditional topics such as everyday life, family, and love are being subjected to a revision today, while the country stands on the brink of civil war and potential descent into political chaos and humanitarian catastrophe looms large.
