Violence is present at all levels of our society. Whether in public or private, in institutionalised and systemic form or within the family, it always hits marginalised groups and the weak the hardest. The sheer number of incidents is not only unimaginable, they also frequently go entirely undocumented. Particularly with regard to women, the problem of the gender data gap prevents not only the discussion but also the serious resolution of these power issues. By shedding light on individual cases, film exposes the omnipresence and arbitrariness of violence and enables us to better understand the victims’ perspective.
