For the third time, we are placing work created by young students from the empire of the sun in the focus. In collaboration with Shanghai-based producer and director Sido Yao Lu, we have selected an assortment of new short films from a host of submissions from numerous universities. Our aim was to capturThe the essence of China’s student film scene. The films reflect the troubles inherent in attempting to cope with a rapidly changing society and prove that a reborn China has long since become an international heavyweight in the cultural ring. The films come from Universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Lanzhou, Zuhai and Hong Kong.
